WE ONLY WENT AND DONE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you all so much for helping me keep focused through the training, injuries, self-doubting and hangovers!! It took me a poor 5hrs 47 mins and 27 secs but hey, finished it, bad knee n' all'! I will write to all concerned very soon but to one and all, on behalf of the British Lung Foundation, thanks so much. If you have never ran the event or even been up to see it, please do in the future. It will leave you speechless and it will restore your faith in human nature! Please do not tell the lads this but i must admit to becoming very emotional more than a few times. What with the memory of Mum, the sheer weight of support and seeing so many amazing people of all races, colours and religion etc pull together was quite awe inspiring! Being overtaken by a man dresses as a rhino, two men dressed as a camel and numerous OAP's was also quite humbling!! Special thanks to Samantha for flying all the way home from San Francisco to cheer me on, Lisa for making me weepy and enduring my driving and nervous banter, Nolan for just being Nolan and not only sponsoring me a hideous amount but standing with the girls in the rain and cheering me on and my new Hero and driving force on the day Rio, who finished some 2 hrs before me (show off). Thanks everyone. More soon, thinking about the NY Marathon and God knows what else!! PS; Knee completely buggered but chance to rest for a month now! Thank you all so much! Think i may have done myself proud! Hopefully you lot to! Pps; It's not too late to sponsor me, however, there are more challenges coming! Yep....its true.....26 and a bit miles this time! How I hear you cry? Training, running (with Toby), cut out (down) drinking (now only 3 times a week!!) and still off the fags (tobacco fags I mean lads thankyou!!). A little dancin here and there, a little sparring possibly and a whole big juicy bag of luck and will-power!! Good humour would help too I guess! Leaving the saturday night curries alone may also help! I stunned myself and everyone by doing the 10 miles for Guide dogs in the great south run so thought (at the time and 3 bottles of bubbly stuff later) 'I'll do the marathon'!! Serious reason this time though!! (though saying 'serious this time', you lot helped me to raise £1800 for Guide dogs the last time, so many thanks). My Mum, my bias aside was a very special and loved Woman, of which most of you reading this page knew! In life, hundreds loved her! My Mum lost the fight for life 5 years ago and so many hundreds of you turned up at her Funeral proving that point!! Well, here is the reason for the run! Mum died of Fibrosing (pulmanory) Aviolitis, a little known about, uncurable disease of the lungs that kills 1000's a year in this Country! The British Lung Foundation spend over a million pounds a year on researching lung disease. They will directly help over 1.4 million people affected by all Lung Disease this year. They commisioned 2 full medical and clinical tests and researches specifically into the disease that claimed Mum last year and this year are trying to fund more. I have promised to raise £1600 for their work and of course (with your help), i will! Listen, we are not immune! My Mum never smoked in her life! The BLF research every Lung Disease! Please help them. If the run doesn't kill me, i'll thank you at the end! A pound, a tenner, hundred, whatever, it all helps! Those who helped last time, sorry to ask again, those who didn't, your chance to help now (i will visit you if you don't!! I promise!) One last thing, if i can run 26 miles with my severe lack of athleticism, you can hopefully help with a little sponsorship! Cheers people! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Lung Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
