Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please give all you can as every penny counts.
Training is going well and I am really enjoying these cold winter nights clocking up the miles in preparation for my first ever marathon!
I am hoping to complete the capitals major running event in 3hrs 30 mins( no laughing please) and in the process raise £2500 for people who live with stroke and aphasia.
Aphasia is a communication disability which is normally caused by stroke, people who suffer with aphasia find it hard to speak, write, understand language and use numbers. This is what your money could do.
£500 could pay for a person with aphasia to have counselling sessions.
£1000 could pay for AV equipment to help run the groups for people with aphasia and the training courses.
£1500 could pay for five people to attend two information days at the London centre. The 'Connect for a day' sessions help people with aphasia meet others in the same situation and share their experiences.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Connect - the Communication Disability Network will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please dig as deep as you can, many thanks for your support.
