About our charity : The No More Landmines Trust The No More Landmines Trust
No More Landmines - freeing communities from the legacy of war. No More Landmines helps and empowers communities around the world by removing the threat of landmines and unexploded weapons. We also provide support for survivors of landmine accidents to enable them to lead fulfilling lives. Unexploded weapons do not recognise ceasefires or peace treaties and they do not distinguish between a soldier and a child. They kill and maim innocent people long after wars have ended and impede communities struggling to recover from conflict – one third of these are children. Landmines and unexploded weapons affect millions more children and families whose access to food, education, water and healthcare is limited because they live amongst minefields or areas where unexploded weapons remain.

Our personal message:

Dear All,

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

On Sunday 31st August, Julia Watkins, Ron Boland, Barry Hindmarch, Paul Ashford and Andrew Grainger will be taking a leisurely 37-mile bike ride through Surrey andBerkshire. Why? Not simply for the pleasure of it, but to save lives.

Every 30 minutes, someone is killed or injured by an exploding landmine. One third of these victims are children. There are an estimated 100 million landmines hidden around the world, preventing millions of people accessing safe water, farmland, education or healthcare. There are over 600 different types, but none of them can tell the difference between a soldier and a civilian.

This is where YOU can help. It only takes one pound to clear one square metre of mine-affected land. Which means that every pound you donate in sponsorship could save a life.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The No More Landmines Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor us now!

We, and millions of others, appreciate your support.

Thank you from Andrew, Barry, Julia, Paul and Ron.
