My story
Thank you for visiting our sponsorship page. In September 2010, Richard Brasher and the Commercial Directors are aiming to cycle from John O'Groats toLand’s End in 72 hours to raise money for the Tesco Charity of the Year, CLIC Sargent.
We will cycle 24 hours a day in relay format and will cover approximately 980 miles. We’re training hard but clearly this is a massive challenge for us all. To keep us motivated, we are each making personal donations and have set a challenge of raising over £250,000 for CLIC Sargent - we would appreciate your support for this worthy cause.
CLIC Sargent is a charity that focuses on caring for children and young people with cancer. It provides support, both for the children themselves, and also for their families. Below are some key facts about childhood cancer and CLIC Sargent:
· Cancer is the biggest killer disease of children and young people in the
· Every day 10 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer in the - 50% of children diagnosed are under 5 years old
· 2 years is the average treatment time for childhood cancer
· Over 70% of children and young people with cancer will survive
· CLIC Sargent support 112,000 children, young people, family and friends per year
The date is set and we now have only five weeks of training left. We leave John O'Groats on the morning of Thursday 2 September and will arrive atLand’s Endon Sunday 5 September – hopefully!
