About The Rose Road Association
Our history
Rose Road was founded in 1952 by a pioneering band of passionate and deeply concerned parents. They had come together to lobby for local services for their children and young people with disabilities; services that simply did not exist at that time. They were successful and from this small beginning Rose Road has grown to what it is today, a centre of excellence, providing care and support to children and young people with severe, profound and multiple disabilities throughout Southampton and South Hampshire.
These pioneers would be gratified to find that Rose Road has become a centre of excellence that now houses a day school, Rosewood School, a respite centre, Oak and Acorns, as well as Community Outreach and the Take-A Break Scheme and much more …
