I am taking part in the Yorkshireman Off-Road Marathon which is 26.3 miles with 4000' climb run over the footpaths and tracks of the South Pennines . (www.kcac.co.uk/)

I am doing this for someone very close to me, my dad’s girlfriend - Nicky. (http://www.justgiving.com/nickyspinks) In June 2006 she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, she had a mastectomy and lymph clearance in July. The test results were very good; there was no spread of the cancer and therefore she did not need chemo or radiotherapy.

After this traumatic experience most people would have a bit of time out, relax, recuperate, but not Nicky, she decided to run a marathon to raise money for the charities that helped her!

I wanted to support her amazing strength and courageousness. The best way I could think of doing this (after ½ a bottle of champagne) was to run the marathon too. So with about 7 weeks of training I am running my 1^st marathon. Please help me raise money for one of the charities that helped her and others like her by sponsoring me now!
