My story

Rotherfield School is situated in a socially and environmentally deprived area of Islington. The school site is largely tarmac with very few green surfaces, plants or nature for children to interact with and learn about.

Trees for Cities is working closely with the school to transform a grey area within the grounds to an amazing multipurpose edible playground. The development will build upon the school’s existing commitment to sustainability and provide the perfect outdoor classroom for school children, parents and local volunteers to build up their green skills and get actively involved in growing their own food.

This project is supported by Rotherfield Primary School and the City Bridge Trust.
