Roy Valentine
Thank-you for visiting my JustGiving page and please use the link below to visit the page of Mr Ray Edwards.
http://www.justgiving.com/rayskilimanjarochallenge
Ray is an absolute inspiration to us all, having overcome the many hurdles and challenges that life has dealt him since becoming a quad amputee in 1987.
For Ray to organise this challenge to help and further awareness of the plight of others with a similar disability shows the true integrity and heart of the Man, who I am proud to call my good friend as well as my neighbour.
As for myself, and I know my problems pale into insignificance of Ray’s ... but I shall be taking this on as a very personal challenge, as in May 2006, I was involved in a near fatal motorbike accident, where I suffered injuries of 2 broken vertebrae, a dislocated hip, five broken ribs and 2 punctured lungs, my recuperation took months both in hospital and at home and is in fact still on-going.
All the funds raised in this challenge will be used for the following programmes:
Professional and Specialist Amputee Counselling Service, Dedicated Complaints and Advocacy Service, Parliamentary and Campaigns Department, LA Handbook and Educational DVD, Sports & Fitness Department, Education, Training, Sponsorships and Scholarships, Limb Loss User Group Network & Research & Development.
I have never envisioned that a climb of Kilimanjaro would ever be possible, but am totally on-board in supporting Ray and hope that in turn you will “dig deep” in supporting us.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many thanks
