We made did it! Came in just under an hour, but ran it all and feel great! Thanks to everyone who supported us.
So where to start...Decided to run the Rise 8k ( i love it that they put it in kilometers, sounds so much further!) as i was looking for a race and Rise is a local and very much needed charity. Asked my friend Dorothy if she wanted to do it and we were on.
This will be my second ever running event. Dorothy and i began running together this summer. I was inspired to get back into my trainers and then at chapter 22 back out of my trainer when i read 'born to run' (- if your having trouble getting motivated, this is the running book to read its by Christopher Mcdougall). Dorothy too had just got back into her trainers and camping was the perfect setting for 5 days of intensive.
This week our training has been thwarted somewhat by the torrential rain, but hopefully we've done enough already! Thanks to our children who entertained themselves together in all the play area while we were doing the laps, they have done us proud.
Watch this space for details of how it went and hopefully some pictures to go with it.
Thanks for you support, below is the blurb. Now to the hard bit!
