The two of us are novice marathon runners. We work in Birmingham in an office - hence the high heels - and we've never done anything like this before.

We aren't actually going to run the marathon in high heels, although I'm sure we would if we could - they're so pretty!

Our chosen charity is the Samaritans and it's one we feel provides an amazing service. For instance, according to the latest figures in the UK, 300,000 under-35s are claiming incapacity benefit because of mental and behavioural disorders while one in six people are suffering from significant mental distress at any one time.

In 2006, the Samaritans received 5.3 million phone calls from those in distress.

Depression is a serious issue and we want to help raise money so those who are affected by it don't have to feel alone.
