Run a Year for the National Autistic Society
Following watching an inspirational movie (Run Fat Boy Run), I decided that it was the time in my life to actually try and raise a massive amount of money for a charity that means an awful lot to me and my family. I then thought if I was going to do one run, why not keep going and enter and organise as many runs in one year as I can. The organised events all began in October 2009.
Completed events

Background
About 2 years ago Louise and I found out that our 5 yr old son James had Autism. For me this was a complete shock, and something I knew nothing about. We were suddenly thrown into trying to get the care he needs sorted and trying to work out his education. However we found help was at hand with the National Autistic Society who helped with courses and information, linking us with people who could help us. Now three years on, we are in the extremely luck position that James is in a fantastic school specifically geared up to help him. However there are currently many families not in the same lucky situation.
Autism effects 1 in 100 people and is a life long condition. This can be extremely scary to parents who suddenly face altering many things to meet their child’s needs. The National Autistic Society is a fantastic organisation offering help, support and information for parents, carers and the children themselves.
In conclusion, please help me raise over my £2500 target, either donate for every run, or just give once. Anything you can give would be fantastic.
