You have all done me proud! I've blasted my original fundraising target and I'm not far off this one either! Well done EVERYONE! I came in at 5:05:40 ...not bad for a first attempt, and what an AMAZING day! Until next time....?!
UPDATE Apr 10: So, it' s marathon month!! I' ve done a series of ' long runs' up to and including 18 miles. There' ll be no record breaking performances but I should ' get around' as they say! I' m now in the ' taper' phase of training and just trying to raise as much extra sponsorship as possible! Bring on the 25th April 2010!?!
UPDATE Mar 10: After many sports massage, physio and podiatrist appointments (!) I am now back up to running although not as often as before - I'm heavily reliant on cross training to maintain my CV fitness and just using long runs to get my legs ready for the mileage. I'm back up to 9 miles as of 15th March...just 'playing safe' now until D-Day!! Thanks to all my family and friends for their continued moral support through my injury..and a MASSIVE thanks to all my sponsors!
UPDATE Feb 10: I'm SLOWLY returning to training - I have strict instructions to follow though...and running for just 10 MINUTES at a time is slightly frustrating to say the least when I'm used to that in miles not minutes!! Still, the determination is there and I'm doing all I can to be marathon ready for April...!
UPDATE Jan 10: Please help! I'm injured and feeling REALLY frustrated at the moment having to watch all the local runners training hard without me! I'm hoping to pick training back up soon but need all the help and support I can get with the fundraising side of things to kep my chin up!
I ran a 5km race in London, I've signed up for a 10km in November and a half marathon in February - all in preparation for the REAL DEAL!! I'm really excited (and terrified!) about the London Marathon next year and have set up this page to ask for your help and support in raising funds for my chosen charity. I sadly missed out on a ballot place for the marathon but was given a second chance to run by Kith & Kids - a cause very close to my heart. I have witnessed first hand the wonderful work this charity does with my amazing cousin, George and others like him - please help me to help them continue doing so! My fundraising target is £1500 and I am committed to achieving this goal - any donation however small is most welcome!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I will keep you updated of my training progress!
Cheers,
Ellen
