I made it!!!
I am very pleased to report that I completed the Taunton half marathon on the 5th April in 1hr 47.52 knocking 3 minutes off my previous best for the course. I am even more pleased to see the fantastic generosity of my friends and family who have supported me with their donations. This has really helped me to get onto the roads for all those 9pm training runs when I didn't really feel like it. Also a big thank you to everyone that cheered me along on the day. Thank you so much.
For those of you that have not donated so far don't worry! It's not too late to sponsor me as the site will be running for a few more weeks yet. Please give generously, and for those of you that have not been to the site before here is why I have been raising money for this charity.
I ran the Taunton Half Marathon on Sunday 5th April for the William Doolin fund and in memory of Amelie.
Amelie and my son Henry grew up together and were best friends. Shortly after Amelie's 2nd birthday she was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumour. An operation successfully removed the tumour from the brain, but the cancer had spread to the meninges in her brain and down her spinal cord. Amelie continued to bravely fight the cancer with chemotherapy for four months in Bristol Children's hospital but sadly the treatment was not successful and Amelie passed away at home on 21st February, www.justgiving.com/leannemiddleton1.
Amelie was a very beautiful, intelligent little girl who was always ready with her great sense of humour and gorgeous giggle. She is greatly missed as a great playmate to all her friends and loved by everyone who met and had the privilege to know her.
Please give generously to this charity that funds research into curing this devastating illness and also provides information and support, www.williamdoolin.com. Thanks to those that have already donated, my employer Boots UK will match the first £500 in donations through their 'Make a Difference' fund and I have added this to the offline total.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: SDBTT - William Doolin Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
James
