M.E. devastates the lives of around 250,000 people in the UK. They live with severe pain and exhaustion and many are left housebound or bedbound. Action for M.E. helps to improve the lives of people with M.E. by providing specialist support and information whilst campaigning for research, treatments and services.

My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) or CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) is a long term and disabling physical illness. It affects the main body systems and they way they work. Having M.E. means feeling exhausted most, or all, of the time. This is a different tiredness to every day fatigue. Some people with M.E. are house-bound or bed-bound for many years.

M.E. does not discriminate. It affects around 240,000 men, women and children in the UK alone. There is no known cause and there is no cure.

Action for M.E. is a nation charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with M.E. They provide information, and support to people with M.E. whilst campaigning for better services and research.

I have M.E. and I am one of the lucky ones. I can work full time and have a social life. I have a wonderful group of friends who support me. However, running 10k will be a HUGE challenge for me, but I am determined to achieve it for this fantastic charity. Please sponsor me to run this race, it will help to inspire me!! I ran 5k in the summer and raised £290. I want to double this for the 10k - but I can only do that with your help!
