Story
This will be my first ever marathon run and with so far completing the 10 mile Great South Run I have my work cut out!
You may be thinking “what has Keith let himself in for?…Not only does he have to train for hours and hours and miles and miles but he’s doing it all so he can run, non stop for 26.2 miles on April the 13th”.
Now that may sound slightly crazy but then again I’m fortunate enough to be able to train, pushing myself to my personal limits and often not giving a second thought to those who are less fortunate – like people who have been effected by injury to their spinal cord caused by either sporting activities, or through disease, or road traffic accidents.
This is why I have chosen to support these individuals and their families who are faced with a different personal challenge of coming to terms with their injuries and rebuilding their lives with a disability and will be raising money for these individuals who are not so fortunate.
Every day 3 people in the UK damage their spinal cord and become paraylsed. The Spinal Injuries Association provides vital specialist support, services and advice for spinal cord injured people to rebuild their lives - from the moment of injury and for the rest of their lives.
This is where I need your help and support. Every pound you sponsor me will push me harder for the big day, so please dig deep and sponsor me online. So please sponsor me and SIA, the 2008 Flora London Marathon Official Charity!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: SIA will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
Keith Fowler
