Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I know the furthest I've ever run is from the bar to the chinese but yes, I am running the 2010 Edinburgh Marathon. At just under 19 stone and with two wrecked knees not the best idea you might think. There is a good reason for my perceived madness though.
My son Lewis was born 5th May 2009 with a condition called Tuberous Sclerosis. I guess you're wondering what TS is, I'm guessing you don't know because I didn't have a clue either. Tuberous Sclerosis is a genetic condition which can affect anyone. It can affect babies before birth and sometimes is not detected until they are a lot older.
Lewis, was diagnosed before being born at 30 weeks thanks to an ultrasound scan which showed tubers growing in his heart. The tubers can grow anywhere in the body causing problems like epilepsy, as Lewis has, and/or learning difficulties/developmental delays as well as various other disabilities.
There is no known cure and no way of knowing how badly you or your child will be affected.
TSA, the Tuberous Sclerosis Association is a tiny UK charity who help families by:-
Keeping them connected and giving crucial support;
Help them to get the treatments and services they need;
Fund cutting edge medical research
