Post run update (19th May 2008) We did the run! It was a beautiful day and it was an amazing experience to be part of an event with 31,000 participants and thousands of spectators. Jon was keen to try and beat the hour, so he went ahead and finished in 58 mins 44 secs. Well done, Jon. Sharon, Anushka and Rob had more modest aspirations and so resolved to stick together to support each other round. We crossed the line together at 66 mins 24 secs. Most significantly we managed to run the whole way without stopping to walk at any point, which is something none of us have come close to achieving before. It took a lot of resolve, pain and endurance, but not as much as Rosie showed during her illness. We think she would be proud of us. We managed to get Rosie’s name mentioned on the public tanoy twice! We are overwhelmed by the support and the donations we have received. Thank you so much. And it's still not too late to give! -------------- Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We are doing this run on May 18th, not just because we're mad, but because we want to raise money for Birmingham St Mary's Hospice in whose wonderful care Rosie Bewley ended her earthly days last April. They do an amazing job and are largely dependent on private donations to keep providing their excellent service. Anyone who knows us will know how much we HATE running, and how much of a struggle this will be for us, so please make our pain worthwhile and give generously! It's also quite ironic because Rosie would never have run anywhere! Please give early: it will be an incentive to us to carry on / start training!!!!!! Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Birmingham St. Mary's Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
And if you're not busy on May 18th and need evidence that we are actually doing it, why not come to Manchester to support us?
Thank you very much! Rob, Anushka, Sharon & Jon
