So here we are "2012" and with the start of a new year is another oppurtunity to make a difference!! With so many new and exciting things happening in the world of Cystic Fibrosis such as GENE THERAPY to name one, wouldn't it be great to support such a great cause!!

So welcome to RUNNING4RONNIE

Ronnie (my gorgeous boy) is one of the over 9000 people in the UK born with Cystic Fibrosis. CF is the UK's most life threatening inherited diseases, it is not a contagious disease but caused by inheriting two faulty genes one from each parent. Over 2 million people in the UK carry this faulty gene!!!

Sooooooooo what am i doing you ask???

I'm running/walking 4 Ronnie, to raise money for the "CF Trust" they are the UK's only national charity dedicated to all aspects of CF. Here is what they do.......they fund the ongoing research for a cure, they fund improving medication to make day to day life more "normal" and they also fund specialised clinics & train top consultants and nurses to give our loved ones the very best treatment and care.

 

There is no government funding for Cystic Fibrosis so all the work done by the Trust is totally reliant on generous donations!!!!

Ours would be a different story if it wasn't for the CF Trust, so anything you can give is soooo appreciated by my family and the 9,000 other families fighting this disease everyday.

My first event will be during CF Week 29 April - 5 May....This has been re-scheduled for 24th June, with me and hopefully a team of friends (let me know if you want to join us) will be walking over the Severn Bridge and back again.
