My Aim I have set myself the challenge of running 100 miles in an attempt to raise £2000. The Cause The recipient of any money raised will be Wells for India. They are a UK charity working on water related projects in Rajasthan in North West India. Their focus is on the provision of sufficient clean water for the local people who require it for all their everyday requirements such as drinking, cooking, washing and for their animals and crops. Such tasks that are taken for granted in the developed world. For more information about their projects please check out their website http://www.wellsforindia.org/ The Challange I am going to be running a series of 7 races with a total distance of 100 miles. The first event is a 10km event to be held in Middlesbrough on 21st September. From this point on I will run 5 half marathons, roughly one per month starting in Cardiff on 19th October. This will lead me up to the final event in April where I will compete in my first marathon. As it stands at the moment I am still waiting to hear if I have a place to run the London Marathon. If my application is not successful I will run instead in either the Blackpool or Madrid marathons which are also both held at the end of April. I will be keeping a blog of my efforts and a link to it will soon be on this page. How you can help
With all the wealth in the world today there is no reason why anyone should not have access to basic amenities such as clean water. By sponsoring my efforts you are able to directly help these people develop their community and create a better future for themselves. I have set what I feel is a very realistic traget of £2000. If each person who visits this site donates as little as £2 it can help. Any donations are greatly appreciated. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Wells For India gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
