Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Kisharon gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

                      'Running for residential'

After a year's challenging work, we all like to have a relaxing and fun holiday with our friends - a chance to take a break from everyday life, to try new experiences and to refresh ourselves. For some that is easier than others...

Every year, Kisharon Adult Day Services plan to take their service users with severe learning disabilities on a four night (five day) midweek residential holiday - a chance for them to socialise in a relaxed setting with their friends, taking part in activities such as bowling, wildlife parks, boat trips, walks in the coutry air and enjoying BBQs in the evening.

At the same time this provides their hardworking and often highly stressed families with the essential respite they need and deserve, allowing them a precious opportunity to recharge their physical and emotional batteries in the knowledge that their vulnerable sons and daughters are well cared for in a safe environment.

Of course, this holiday does not come without a price, providing specialist equipment and staff to cater for each service user's individual social and medical needs to make their holiday the safest possible within a fun environment. The ratio of staff to students is higher than one-to-one in order to provide round-the-clock care and support. But our funding from local authorities doesn't cover the cost of providing such a holiday.

From personal experience, I have seen how immensely valuble these residential holidays are to both our service users and their families. So much so, that I'm running the London Marathon in 2009 to help raise the £15,000 we need so we can keep this critical service going.

So this year, I am asking for your help in the campaign 'Running for Residential!'

In sponsoring me to complete the London Marathon 2009, your kind donation will make you a partner with us in providing service users of Kisharon Adult Day Services with a special holiday and a chance for their families to renew their energy.

It's easy to sponsor me online by credit or debit card on this justgiving page.

Justgiving sends your donation straight to Kisahron and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you're a tax payer, so your donation is worth even more. I hope you'll join me in supporting Kisharon.

Thank you for your generosity,

Best wishes,

Aviva

Ps. Please forward this to your friends and family... every penny counts!
