Helen's Trust is a charity helping people with an incurable illness to stay in their own home. It works in the Derbyshire Dales and Sheffield. It was formed in 2001 in memory of Helen Lyon whose friends and family made it possible for her to achieve this final wish.

My story

The 'Running on a prayer' team consists of quite a few folk, but this is the dedicated EMH's Policy & Information team's sponsor page.

As you can see in the attached photo, here are the 3 of us limbering up for some pre-race training. Jerry is the seasoned runner of the team, having previously completed the London Marathon. Beccy and Liz are novices and, to be honest, pretty rubbish at running and really not looking forward to the long, hard slog around Chatsworth House. Taking this into consideration and then also the fact that Jerry’s now getting a little bit old and creaky, it’s going to be a massive challenge for us to wheeze and puff our way round the course and it is for this very reason that we’d very much appreciate your donations to encourage us swiftly on our way…
