Urgent Call: Save Children affected by Sichuan Earthquake
My dear friends
I believe many of you have heard of the catastrophic earthquake that recently struck China. The 7.9 magnitude tremor, which was focused in China’s Sichuan Province, had already taken 28,000 vivid lives, and injured 198,000 people. Over 14,000 people are estimated to still be buried under the rubble of collapsed buildings. The toll is rising as every day goes by. Countless sweet homes are shattered and happy families are torn apart.
Please help the survivors and the people who lost their loved ones in this tragedy by making a donation. One single pound could contribute to the clean water, clothes, medicine, food, and shelter that are much needed for the people suffering. Every pound could make a big difference! Every little bit of help would be wholeheartedly appreciated.
In order to raise more funds to help the China Earthquake, I will take part in the Grant & Stone Half Marathon 2008 for the charity The Mothers' Bridge of Love (MBL). The race will be held on Sunday 20 July in High Wycombe. I genuinely hope that, from thousands of miles away, I could still do something for the people in my beloved homeland.

About the Charity: Mothers’ Bridge of Love (MBL)
To help children and orphanages in the disaster area, MBL is making an urgent appeal to raise donation in support of the disaster relief efforts. Their focus will be helping children and women to recover from physical (food, water, and medical care immediately) and physiological damage (Counseling in a later stage). The donation will be sent to the local schools and mothers and carers directly through their local advisory volunteers. The money will be used to buy the most urgently needed goods and rescue the children still underneath the debris.
