Story
Hi, I'm Matthew and I have a brain tumour. This isn't the first one I've had. When I was 3, in 2006, I was diagnosed with a high grade ependymoma. This was successfully treated and for 14 and a half years scans were just a precautionary matter. A few years ago my scans were moved from yearly to 3 yearly and I was uneasy about this, 2 years later I ended back up in a scanning machine. I had reported feeling dizzy and falling over. Unfortunately a brain tumour was found on the site of the removed tumour. After a successful surgery, removing 99% of the tumour I was positive I had done it again. Pulled off the inevitable.
Unfortunately, during the radiotherapy planning scan they found the cancer had spread to my brainstem. This can't be operated, therefore making this terminal. I've had 6 weeks of Radiotherapy and I'm on tablet chemotherapy.
I'm running or walking 1 mile everyday this November, even on my 18th birthday., so we can raise vital funds needed to fund the information and support that Brainstrust provide. Please donate.
