Well after many years of promising myself I would do it; of sitting around in pubs claiming next year would be the year - time has eventually caught up with me... I have entered for the Great North Run!
Now all I need is motivation... A couple of years ago my wife gave birth to two beautiful reasons to put my trainers on and spend countless hours pounding the streets of . While bringing a lot of joy and fun to my life, being a father of twins also brings certain challenges. The Twins and Multiple Births Association (TAMBA), my charity of choice, supports parents like me and my wife, parents of multiples, on the mundane to the catastrophic. They are there to negotiate discounts on things like shoes and car seats (useful when you have to buy two of everything!); they are there to provide forums for parents in similar situations to communicate and to compare notes; they are also there to support parents when things don't go so well. TAMBA provide families with practical support to get their babies into the world safely and healthily, and provide the means to access a wealth of information to help parents make it through the early years and beyond.
While I appreciate this is isn't your usual high profile charity and is very specific to certain situations, TAMBA have had a positive impact on our lives and I would appreciate it if you could support me supporting them...
