Well, it has taken me an age to get this far, but here I go, at last! My trip to Cuba on October 10th to 20th includes covering 350 kms in 6 days by bicycle, from Havana to Trinidad, then recovering for a couple of days after!

Chipping Norton-based Charity, EMMA’S TRUST offers financial support to young people in Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire who may be restricted in undertaking sports and performing arts due to financial restraints. The Trust also contributes funds to asthma research in the UK and has the Charity Registration No 1114813.I feel that this is a good time to help the often under-fire young people in our country in sporting and performance arts pursuits, particularly in the lead up to the London Olympics in 2012.

 I hope to raise up to £5000 during this venture, mainly by hosting two separate events. On July 19^th, two local bands (Mr. Fox and Cooper Black) raised £530 by performing at The Town Hall; secondly, there will be a rare opportunity to see the excellent film “The Motorcycle Diaries” at Chipping Norton Theatre on 10^th September. The film shows the stunning scenery on a tour of South America undertaken by the young Che Guevara and his friend, Alberto Granado. I am providing food and "fizz"on the film night, so if you would like to come along, tickets are £20 and available from me- please email me.
