For the second time, I'm doing the Great North Run. Last year I completed it in 2 hours 11 minutes but couldn't walk for three days after the race. This year I've promised to train properly.
I'm running for the Tony Blair Sports Foundation, which funds courses for people who pledge to become community coaches and help children play sport. Every penny raised will go towards the cost of Level 1 Coaching Courses and organising sports events for local children. Some of the courses start from as little as £30.00 - so for every £30.00 you donate one extra person can receive training.
Everyone was so generous last time, it made a real difference to the Foundation. Between your kindness and my pain, we raised about £5,000 which covered the costs of teaching hundreds of children to play tennis for the first time.
Thank you for your generosity.
