Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Last year I had an unfortunate accident where I needed the assistance of the Air Ambulance. They were a big help to me, and I want to help them by raising some money.
I am planning on doing a long distance event in the Lake District called the Bob Graham round, which starts and finishes in Keswick. The route takes in 42 Lake District peaks including Skiddaw, Helvellyn, Scafel and Great Gable. The aim is to complete the route in less than 24hrs. It is not a race, except against the clock, and contenders may attempt the circuit in either a clockwise or an anti-clockwise direction. The total distance is approx 65miles with 26,000ft of ascent. To complete this I need the help of support runners to carry food and drink for me, and help navigate through the difficult sections. I can make my attempt on any day and the support runners will validate my effort by witnessing me at each summit.
I did the Bob Graham round on the 12/13th June in 22hrs 33mins. My supporters were all excellent and I could not have done it with out them. I am very greatful for their help. The weather was good for stage 1, then on stage 2 (the night leg ) the low cloud set in (plus some rain!) and stayed for stage 3 +4. Stage 5 was sunny and I was really pleased to make it round. My ankles are tired and swollen, but they should be ok in a few days. Thanks for everyone who has sponsored me.
