Story
On Saturday 13th September I will be attempting to go 'Coast to Coast'.
I will race against the clock from the East coast to the West coast of Scotland... On foot, on bike and on water!
With a 06:30 start from Nairn 16 miles North of Inverness I will have 13 and half hours to reach Glencoe over 100 miles away on the Highlands West Coast.
The race starts I with a 7 mile off road run followed by a 48 mile road cycle followed by a 2 mile kayak, hoping to reach Fort Augustus by lunch time. From Fort Augustus it's back on the bike for a 20.5 mile off road cycle straight into a 13.5 mile road cycle, a 14 mile run, and finally another short kayak across Loch Leven to the finish line at Glencoe before 8 o'clock Saturday night.
To those of you that supported me in 2012 for 'The Great Escape' thank you and I respectfully ask for your kind generosity once again. Again I am undertaking this event in support of 'Cherished Memories'. I am genuinely apprehensive and have a lot of work to do to ensure I complete the challenge. I am really pushing myself with this race in the hope that it genuinely persuades you to donate generously!
Cherished Memories is a small charity supporting families of children who have life threatening illnesses or who are terminally ill. The charity assists families in realising experiences that will be cherished memories rather than remembering the suffering.
Thank you, Ryan
