Ryde Inshore Rescue provides an independent Inshore Life Boat service to HM Coastguard. On call 24 hours a day throughout the year, their voluntary crews provide the primary inshore safety for the South East Solent. In 2009 they were called out 82 times and rescued or assisted some 253 people.
