- Your money will provide psycho-social rehabilitation to traumatized children in Gaza.
It is estimated that in Gaza, 85% of the population live under the poverty line. Living in poverty means that when disaster strikes, it is even harder to return to normal - whether it is undertaking the cost of rebuilding your home, paying for education or rebuilding the infrastructure at a community level.
In tough conditions it is no wonder that since the aerial bombardment of Gaza that took place during January 2009, hundreds of children have suffered from emotional and physical strain.
Their childhood has been taken away from them with the loss of loved ones, disruption to schooling and the lack of the simple pleasures of childhood that we all take for granted.
Last winter, almost 150 walkers took part in Muslim Hands first ever Winter Walk for Gaza. Muslim Hands was able to deliver vital aid into the Gaza strip during the heavy bombing and blockage and has continued to work with victims through its permanent office in Gaza. There is still a great deal of work to do one year on, and Muslim Hands remains committed to helping Gaza get back on its feet inshaa'Allaah.
This year, the 10km walk will take place in the beautiful Kensington Gardens in Central London on 5/12/09.
