This event has really made some waves! This summer we sailed round mainland Britain in a bid to raise as much cash as possible for Leukaemia Research. We set off from the Medway on June the 12th, and stopped over in Newcastle, Aberdeen, Belfast and Padstow (as well as a few other little harbours and anchorages) before returning home exactly one month later.
Why did we do this for Leukaemia Research? Because a couple of years ago I met a young woman called Jessie Whitmore - she was 17 years old, funny, outgoing, her whole life ahead of her. She also had acute myeloid leukaemia. Less than a year after I met her, she had died. No one should have to go through the distress Jessie and her family suffered.
If just a thousand people pledge £20, we can reach our target together.
