On 19th July the Salford Quays stage of the BUPA European tournament is taking place, with the finalists progressing to Brighton for the finals. There has been a great response & we hoping to raise over £600 from the tournament.
However you don’t need to play or like football to contribute to this amazing charity.
"In October 2008, with your support, The Great Football Giveaway will head to Zambia.
They will be teaming up with the charity Alive and Kicking and buying their balls, which are made and stitched in Zambia. These balls have aids and malaria awareness messages printed on them. In a country where one million people are estimated to be living with HIV and where malaria remains the number one killer, these balls will be used as tools to spread awareness. They will also bring a huge smile to every Zambian child that receives one.
Every £10 donated buys a football. Currently the charity are in Uganda & you can see more on whats happening by clicking on http://www.thegreatfootballgiveaway.org.uk/news.htmSo if you like football or not why not buy a football why not make a difference & donate.
Thanks Paul, Ryan and Celeste
