Hi everyone,
Right now you are probably all laughing uproariously at the idea of me trying to run 5k. I have never run 5k in my life. I rarely even run for the bus. So you might be wondering why I have decided to do the Adidas Women's 5k challenge to raise money for Eaves.
I started donating money to Eaves earlier this year after reading about the work that they do on a blog. An email update I received included this snippet:
Research carried out by New Philanthropy Capital found that the combined income of the three most prominent violence against women charities, Refuge, Women's Aid Federation of England, and Eaves is £17 million, whereas the annual income of The Donkey Sanctuary, who work to improve conditions for donkeys and mules, stands at £20 million a year.
Now don't get me wrong, I totally agree that we should look after our vulnerable donkeys. But you know, I think that women are at least as important as donkeys. And that is why I decided to break a lifelong habit of sloth to try to raise both money and awareness.
Thanks for reading this far. It would be awesome if you could sponsor me, even if it is just a small amount. (Large amounts are also welcome!). I will reward you will hilarious tales of inappropriate underwear, sweaty iPods and getting lost in Hampstead Heath.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Eaves gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
