I think that most of you reading this page will be aware that my daughter, Daisy (with us in the photo), was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was 11 months old. As a result, we formed the charity, Peninsula CF and now here i am, about to embark on my first fundraising adventure, accompanied by my faithful sidekick, Verity (who i'm secretly hoping will carry my rucksack!!!
)We are embarking on a 6-day trek in Iceland, walking for about 8 hours a day over difficult terrain with an ever-changing climate. The trek will start from mount Hekla in the South West of Iceland and the route will take us down through a volcanic rift to the ocean. It will be both physically and mentally demanding.
As well as this, I think that being away from my daughter Daisy for 8 days, alone with my thoughts amidst those remote landscapes will present a different kind of challenge for me.
This is the first time that i've done anything like this, so i've been in training to ensure that it's memorable for the right reasons (and not for me being airlifted home suffering from exhaustion!)
If you would like to check out our website for further information on the charity, it's address is www.peninsulacf.org.uk
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: PeninsulaCF will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support. I won't let you down!
Sally

P.S
ALL THE MONEY RAISED WILL GO TO CHARITY, NOT TO FUND THE TRIP!!
