Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.
I've always, always loved swimming and this challenge is a fantastic way to have fun doing something I love while raising money for a very good cause! Over the next 12 weeks I’ll be swimming 22 miles "across the English Channel" to raise money to help Aspire to continue to support those who have sadly been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury.
Every eight hours someone is paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury. That's around 1200 people every year (many of whom are aged between 15 and 40!) whose lives are turned completely, totally and utterly upside down. It can happen to anyone at any time - and right now there is no cure. There are currently around 40 000 people in the UK who are living with a spinal cord injury and, with the help and support of Aspire, these brave, incredibly determined people are able to enjoy a greater level of independence.
Think of all the things you do, the things you do by yourself and all the things you take for granted. What if, one day, something happened and you were unable to do them? Who would you turn to for support?
As well as being able to make a donation on this page, it's possible to donate via text message - simply text "ASPC92 £1" (or however much you'd like to donate) to 70070 and you're away! I also have a paper form if you'd prefer to donate the more traditional way.
Any donation you are able to offer, however small, will make a big, big difference to the work of Aspire and to the lives of the people they support! THANK YOU!!!
