Story
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) affects 1 in 3,600 boys, which results in muscle degeneration and eventual death.
Symptoms appear in male children before age 6 and may be visible in early infancy with progressive muscle weakness of the legs and pelvis. Eventually this weakness spreads to the arms, neck, and other areas.
By age 10, braces may be required to aid in walking but most patients are wheelchair dependent by age 12. Later symptoms may include abnormal bone development leading to skeletal deformities, including curvature of the spine.Loss of movement occurs leading to paralysis.
The average life expectancy is around 25.
As of yet there is no cure for this. They will needlessly die before they have a chance to live their lives.
We are looking to see if you can help us raise money to help find a cure. No how much you can give it will be all deeply appreciated.
We will be funding the dive ourselves, so all proceeds will go straight to Duchenne Now.
So please dig deep and donate now.
