Thank you for showing interest in my recent fundraising effort which took place yesterday...


 
With your help, I am hoping to achieve my target of £2,000 for Action on Addiction. 

I've still got a little way to go, but am confident that I can reach it. 

 
The event on Sunday 27th was quite different to anything I've ever done...
 
It was a serious stretch.  I found myself with about 10 other equally nervous looking participants, in a studio at the beautiful Alchemy Centre, an oasis of calm and tranquility in the middle of the madness that is Camden Market on a bright Sunday morning.
 
In Mary and Sophie, we had two experienced yoga teachers leading the session who led us through the first three sun salutation sequences, before we all started going through our surya namaskar in our own time, and in our own style(!)
 
I managed 50 sun salutations (well, 100 if you include the fact that I did 50 on each side!) and I ache all over today.  My elbows are particularly delicate today - probably indicative of my 'unique' (amateur) technique!
 
It was an incredible way to spend my Sunday morning; I completed the yogathon in about an hour and 40 minutes, without leaving my mat.  When I finally managed to get up and leave Alchemy I felt blissfully full of zen - even on discovering that I had incurred a penalty charge notice whilst exerting myself in the name of a good cause!
 
The idea is that this fundraiser will be the first of what will become an annual event, which will hopefully be rolled out nationwide.  Who knows, with a bit of training, I might one day manage the sacred number of 108 salutations...
 
In the meantime, with immense gratitude - your donation will be going to a great cause, and I cannot tell you how much of an incentive it was as I struggled my way through the last 5 salutations yesterday!
