Story

I'm Sam, current top goal scorer in the NOW: Pensions Hockey Premier League, and starting to get very out of pocket!!

Since hearing of my close friend, and Beeston teammate's, recurrence of Hodgkin's Lymphoma I immediately decided to donate £50 for every league goal I score.... That weekend I netted a costly hattrick, and have since scored another four!

Martin Scanlon missed all of the 2012/13 season due to cancer treatment, and inspired us all with his bouncebackability. He played a key role in some big wins this season and was playing so well, but we are confident that with his fighting spirit and positive attitute he'll be back in black & yellow in no time.

Thanks to Twitter, friends, teammates, and the hockey family what started as £50/goal (no pressure on me!!) has been raised to, currently, £120/goal.

We recognise that chances are, you are reading this as a non-Beeston supporter, so remember that if you're thinking of pledging per goal, it doesn't have to be me that you back. Why not choose to back a player at your club and see how many goal they can #score4Scan

Let's get #score4Scan trending!!!

OK, my latest venture is to shave my head in support of Martin!! Not something I'm particularly keen on but I'll do just about anything for this great cause. If anyone wants to join me, or support me by donating it would be greatly appreciated!
