Unfortunately we are unable to participate in the China trek now, but we are doing our own organised walk (Hadrian's Wall) instead, to get fit and still challenge ourselves, and we are continuing to raise funds for Marie Curie where we can.  We have managed to raise an extra £300 so far, bringing our total raised to nearly £900!

Sitting bored in the office one grey February day - Stacey and I saw this trek on the Marie Curie website and decided there and then to do it. We have always wanted to visit China and this seemed like a great opportunity to do something really different and raise some money for a great cause at the same time.

Emma: Anyone who knows me will know that I am not the most outdoorsy and athletic person. I don't think I have been in a tent since the 1980's and don't own a pair of shoes that could even loosely be described as walking shoes, so this will be a challenge for me on many levels!

Stacey: I am a typical kiwi girl from a small country town, and opportunities like this do not come up very often in NZ.  So I am making the most of this one!  I think growing up in the outdoors and doing a lot of bush walks and camping will help a bit with this challenge (hopefully!)

If by February 2010 we manage to raise £6000 we will be rewarded with a fantastic life time experience to do the Great Wall of China Trek in May 2010.

This will not be a holiday - it wil be painstakingly hard!

We plan to trek along sections of the Great Wall of China.  We will be trekking along the wall for approx 6-7 hours per day, for just over a week, so you can imagine, we are now in training to get fit for the challenge ahead!

Please dig deep and sponsor us online - if you prefer not to use your card details online, then please email us - sandemschina@gmail.com to arrange an alternative method of making your donation - anyway you can help would be fantastic!
