Folks, I know it's not The Caly Challenge or The Great North Run but on Saturday 10th January I will be running the lesser known, but not insignificant, Great Winter Run 5k race around Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh. But before you think "that’s rubbish Chilton I’m sponsoring nothing less than seven marathons across the Sahara Desert", I’d like you to consider the following...
1) It's the Great WINTER run....yes, Scotland in January is going to be bleedin' cold, it could well be snowing and half the course is uphill.
2) I will be dragging myself out of bed on my 30th birthday to do this!
3) I'll be dressed as none other than...The Pink Panther!! That's gotta be worth at least a few of your pennies...
4) The most important reason of all, I’m doing this in memory of my brother, Steven, who was killed in a car crash five years ago, aged just 29. As I turn 30 I would like to mark the day by doing the run, remembering my fantastic brother and raising money for Roadpeace. The charity works hard to increase awareness of road danger, provide trauma support and campaigns to make roads safer for everyone. www.roadpeace.org.uk
Donating through this site is quick, easy and secure, and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation.
So......please get sponsoring!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
