My story

Well hello there.

I have successfully completed my own variety of marathon: No blisters, no pavement pounding on dark, rainy, winter evenings, no sweaty trainers.

.On January 3rd I took temporary possession of a very beautiful flute, and on Feb 27th (eight short weeks later) I sat  the Grade 1 exam, and joined the 150 other members of the 'Grade One A Thon' 'Cambridge Clueless Orchestra' in a concert at the Cambridge Corn Exchange

I passed. WITH MERIT. Hooray for me! Toot toot. .

This 'grade-one-a-thon' is being organised by musicians around Cambridge, and we are raising money for the Spinal Injuries Association.......a cause close to our hearts, and in the front of our minds, as one of our local french horn players sustained a spinal cord injury earlier this year while doing a spot of DIY.

Prior to Jan 3rd, I had never played the flute before, and I borrowed one from my singing buddy and fellow physio...... Thanks  Alison

I am hoping that my squeaky efforts at the start of 2011 did not distress the neighbours in our small Victorian terrace too much.....Sorry guys.

Tthe concert on Feb 27th, showcasing our efforts, was cause for celebration and smiles......and ear plugs.

So please show your encouragment and support by sponsoring me.

It is a really good cause.
