Bake Sale!
Today I am holding a bake sale at work as well as asking my colleagues to fill in the sweepstake form, guessing how fast I will run the race in. Whoever guesses correctly will win £10 so it's a win-win!

120 Miles!
I have run over 120 miles in preparation for the Great North Run over the past couple of months which is amazing for me considering I am used to doing a couple of 5kms a week not 8 or 9 mile runs!
I did my last big run yesterday before the big race next weekend, 11 miles in 2 hours which puts me under my 2 hour 30 minute target.
I would be really grateful to anyone who sponsors me as I hope to raise the £350 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Thanks,
Sarah!

Training Update: Well, so far I have reached 9 miles and felt OK (read: not collapsing) afterwards. Tonight will be my first 10 mile attempt and if that goes OK over the next three weeks I will be working my way up to 12 miles.
A friend of mine who has run the GNR a couple of times has warned me about the hills along the route so I have been practising my hill runs - the folks around Skipton will have seen me looking like a struggling donkey trying to get up a mountain! I am not the most glamorous runner to say the least!
Thank you to the people who have donated, along with my Just Giving donations some people from work have donated their hard-earned cash and the obligatory family rounds will be made in the next couple of weeks.
I hope to raise my £350 before or a couple of weeks after the race so keep coming back for more updates!

My Story: With two 10k runs for Breakthrough Breast Cancer under my belt and watching the London Marathon this year I have decided to go the extra mile (or 6.1 miles) and do the Great North Run.
This will be my first half marathon and I am raising money for a worthy cause. Any donations you can make no matter the size will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks very much,
Sarah!
