In under 2 weeks time I will be running round 13 miles round Silver Stone Race Track raising money for the Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC) foundation (My first attempt at a half marathon).

PBC is a slow, chronic liver disease which can cause progressive destruction of the bile ducts in the liver. It is an auto immune disease which is realtively unknown and predominately appears in females, there is no cure! More information on PBC can be found
here

My mum has PBC, it is a horrible disease and she takes a lot of medication one is  like "glue" which she takes before a meal. The disease zaps your energy so that you can't get out of bed. Mum describes it as pressing the accelerator on a car and there is nothing there. Management of your energy is required all the time so that you can do the most important tasks in a day. There is no known reason why people develop PBC so more research needs to be done to find out more about PBC. To hear an account from the lady who created PBC website click here.
