The Gorilla Organization celebrated 10 years at our Mt Tshiaberimu project last year and were delighted that the population had increased in that time to 21 gorillas. A unique sub-species, they are under increased threat after the recent rebel attacks which left a conversationist colleague dead and several other injured. Your donation will help us to raise; $15,000/ £8,5000 for staff medical costs and post-traumatic stress treatment over the next 6 months $25,000 / £14,000 for start-up and 6 months operating costs for conflict resolution initiative. We have teamed up with WWF to launch this approach to the communities surrounding Mt Tshiaberimu to encourage dialogue between grass-roots and government. We both have a good deal of experience in this kind of work and, will try to determine win-win solutions for both the people and wildlife. $3,000 / £1,600 for logistical support and emergency co-ordination from the in situ management team based in Kyondo, Goma and Kampala.
