The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Autism is a serious, lifelong and disabling condition.  Without the right support, it can have a profound - sometimes devastating - effect on individuals and families.  Autism doesn't just affect children.  Children with autism grow up to be adults with autism.

Over 50,000 people in Scotland have autism.  Together with their friends and families they make up over 200,000 people in Scotland whose lives are touched by autism every single day.

Despite this, autism is still relatively unknown and misunderstood.  Which means that many of these 200,000 people receive nothing like the level of help support and understanding they need.

Together we are going to change this.

We need to raise £7 million over the next five years to continue to support and develop our vital services in Scotland. In partnership with readers of The Scotsman, The National Autistic Society Scotland can make a real difference.
