Thanks for taking the time to visit my CHAS JustGiving page.
On the 22nd of July 2009 I shall be walking the Southern Upland Way (212 miles) for two charities. The charities I
have chosen are The Children's Hospice Association Scotland and Marie
Curie Cancer Care. I shall
hopefully complete the walk in around three weeks (barring serious
injuries).
I shall be using both traditional sponsor forms along with a blog on my own website http://scottmacleod.info/ where you can track my progress. When possible I shall try to update this page also.
Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) is a Scottish charity
established to provide hospice services in Scotland for children and
young people with life-limiting conditions.
A
children’s hospice offers professional care, practical help and
emotional support to the whole family usually from the day of
acceptance, to the death of their child, and beyond.
Rachel
House in Kinross, Scotland’s first children’s hospice, opened in March
1996. Robin House in Balloch opened in August 2005. Both hospices are
purpose-built and each can provide ongoing support for up to 200
families across Scotland each year.
The CHAS at Home Team offers support to families across Scotland by
providing a home care service to families in their own homes when they
need it.
What your donations can do:
£5.00 provides a disposable camera for the hospice - capturing treasured memories forever.
£50.00 provides care through the night for an affected child, giving mum and dad a rare undisturbed sleep.
£100.00 provides five physiotherapy sessions for a child, relaxing sore muscles and joints and giving plenty of fun.
- A gift of £2,300 could provide one month’s worth of children’s activities;
- A gift of £6,500 could buy food for one month for all the children and families using our hospices;
- A gift of £11,000 could cover the annual costs of medical supplies at either Rachel or Robin House;
- A gift of £21,000 could cover the cost of an average family’s use of either Rachel or Robin House for one year; or
- A gift of £45,000 could cover the weekly running cost of a hospice.
