Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Sue and I are taking part in the 2013 Screwball Rally on 25th September for 5 days, driving through France and Northern Spain and back (we hope?).  Our car has been generously provided by Terence Byrne, director of Progress Skoda in Elms Farm, Bedford.

The Screwball Rally have very strict rules which don't allow us to use a car with a value over £1000.  Over the years, Skoda cars have been winning many RAC Rallies and we are very confident that our standard 2004 Skoda will reliably take us on our route through La Rochelle, Bordeaux, San Sebastian in Spain, Andorra, Toulouse, Sete, Bourges and up to Calais, approximately 1,800 miles.

We have chosen a local Bedford charity this year, the Elisabeth Curtis Centre, Riding for the Disabled based in Bromham, Bedford.  The people here do a wonderful job and the disabled riders get so much out of contact with the horses.

Amy, a nine year old disabled girl had never spoken a word, yet she was heard talking to the horse she was riding, her very first words spoken at the riding centre.  Other heart warming events are an everyday occurrence at the Disabled Riding Centre, as riders overcome the challenge of balance, and build their confidence and self esteem in a very friendly and enjoyment rich environment. If you live in or around Bedford, please consider helping others in our 'Bedford Family'

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
