Story
Finlay was just over 2 years old when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in October 2007. As you can imagine this was shocking news but we were determined to get him through it right from the beginning. He was admitted into Great Ormond Street hospital where he received the highest quality care and we received an amazing amount of support.
He was started on chemotherapy immediately and will continue on this until December 2010. Finlay is now classed as low risk and has an excellent chance of making a complete recovery with no implications for the future.
The reason why we have chosen Leukaemia Research is that this is the charity that does all the testing (amongst other things) to see how well the therapy is working. He has had numerous tests but one in particular costs in the region of £600. Finlay has had 3 of these so far and without them it would be extremely difficult to assess how well he has responded.
For the record I am not attempting this solo but with a group of fantastic friends who are as keen as me (I think) to take part and raise as much money as possible. They are John and Miriam, Seb, Rod, Mike and Chris. If you are sponsoring them through this page, we appreciate your support a great deal. I will update the page to to keep you all informed of our cumulative total!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
Sean, Kate, Finlay and Evan
