My story
Due to the recession Bath Cats and Dogs Home is being faced with large vet bills and therefore we are launching the Second Chance Appeal, which we hope will raise £70,000. If all our supporters give us just £10 we will reach our target and be able to help all the animals that come to the Home in desperate need of assistance. Animals like Albert:
Albert was just 7 years old when he was brought into Bath Cats and Dogs Home. We had never seen a dog in such an awful state. Albert had been found abandoned by a member of the public who was so upset by his condition that she took him to her local vets who then referred him to us. It is still hard to think about the terrible state that Albert was in when he arrived at the Home. He had lost most of his fur. His skin was covered in sores and he was suffering from severe dermatitis. His eyes were swollen and weeping and he was severely emaciated. Despite being very scared and in a huge amount of pain Albert was extremely affectionate and trusting of everyone that tried to help him. It makes me feel very humble to think that despite everything he had been through he was still such a loving dog.
Albert’s treatment was very intense and for his first few days our veterinary team worked almost exclusively on his needs. Over time Albert grew stronger and healthier and, I’m pleased to say, have now been happily re-homed with a wonderful new family.
The veterinary bill for Albert’s treatment was very large and without your support we would not have been able to help him, so thank you. However, there are so many more animals, just like Albert, who arrive almost everyday at Bath Cats and Dogs Home and in order to give these animals the second chance at happiness we ask you to support our appeal so we can be there for animals like Albert when they need us the most.
