Friends,

My friend, Vicky, has been fighting against Leukemia for 7+ years. It is a horrible disease. Recently her condition has become quite serious as she is battling infection due to a low white blood cell count (thanks to the Chemotherapy)

She's 32 years old (my age). She has had to sacrifice many of the things we take for granted in life. I am prompted to take a long hard look at my own life. It is frustrating for friends like me who although physically far away from her situation, feel very much affected by this.

So instead of sitting around and listening to status updates, I'm going to try to do something constructive. First, I've registerd to be a blood donor. People like Vicky depend on blood transfusions to stay alive.
